Daines to Welcome Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner to 2018 Montana Energy Summit

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced Commissioner of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Neil Chatterjee, will speak at the 2018 Montana Energy Summit.
“I appreciate the opportunity to join Senator Daines in his home state for the 2018 Montana Energy Summit and commend his efforts in bringing together thought leaders in the energy sector for a timely and significant conversation,” said Commissioner Chatterjee. “The dynamic energy landscape in Montana and its neighboring states represents great economic potential for workers and businesses as well as communities across the region. Montana’s energy future will also play a key role in securing our national energy dominance and maintaining the reliability and resilience of our grid in the years ahead. I look forward to joining Senator Daines as we take a deep dive on these important issues at the Summit.”
“I’m excited to welcome Commissioner Chatterjee to Billings for the Montana Energy Summit,” Daines stated. “His years of experience in energy will give folks at the Summit profound insight into unlocking Montana’s energy potential.”
Commissioner Chatterjee was nominated by President Trump in May 2017 to serve as FERC commissioner. Previously, he served as an energy policy advisor to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Commissioner Chatterjee has influenced significant energy legislation in the past and continues to push America towards energy dominance.
The Summit, co-sponsored by Daines, will take place in Billings on May 30th and 31st. The Montana Energy Summit serves as an opportunity to bring the nation’s energy business leaders to Billings. The Summit will highlight Montana’s growing energy sector, the jobs Montana energy will create and how to unlock Montana’s energy potential.
